A very useful exposition!
This was the keynote of the feedback from the participants of Moscow International MICE Forum.
This year - 2011 - the traditional Moscow International MICE Forum gathered representatives of 76 companies at TC Tishinka in Moscow. During the forum we talked to some of its participants to know their opinions about the quality of preparations for this event.
Tanja Pohjola, Sales Manager with Nordic Holidays (Finland)
I am very much content with my participation in this event. From the very beginning I had several productive meetings. I was approached by several visitors who knew exactly what they wanted and asked specific questions, and so we easily established fruitful contact. I'd say prepared visitors are the main distinguishing feature of this forum. This is not my first show, I already participated in a similar one two years ago, and I plan to come here for the next forum.
Lisa Lebedeva, Coordinator of marketing and PR department, VisitDenmark (Denmark)
My impressions are very good because we have every opportunity here for making new contacts. It's important for us to know the opinion of Russian companies about Denmark and to understand what products they'd be most interested in. Surely I do not expect immediate results from today's meetings and discussions. The time for serious talks will come later. But these contacts are very important because they are the starting point. I'd like to note that during the previous year the influx of Russian tourists swelled remarkably and yet Denmark lags behind some other countries. Until recently the activity of Russian tourists has been curbed by visa formalities, but now the entry visa to Denmark takes only 7 days to get and the tourist flow has increased. I believe the Russian market is promising for our company and we'll certainly take part in the next event to offer our services.
Darina Rogovenko, project manager at Incentive Europe (Netherlands)
We are not here for the first time - we attended last year's forum as well. The recent events certainly take their toll as the number of visitors has decreased. Last year I was busy every single minute but this year it's quieter. Yet we've hit our target anyway as we had interesting meetings and made useful contacts. MICE tourism is our core business activity and we hope to attract new partners here, especially since this business is rapidly developing on the Russian market. Our company has been working in Russia for two years and we are satisfied with our business and see the growing interest in our market segment. There's a lot to see in Netherlands, the infrastructure is superb and so this destination is an excellent choice for both business and leisure activities. Most clients certainly opt for sunshine and beachfront areas but hopefully weather conditions will not be the only decision-making factor. In my opinion, Netherlands has great potential in the Russian MICE market and we'll try to make use of it.
